Production Notes

Fulton Street Sessions is a company devised work in the form of a collection of short scenes, musical numbers, and dramatic interludes. In this "work--in--progress," TUTA aspires to use music as the main organizing principle of the theatrical event. Speech, singing, movement, space, costumes, light, and sound are all meant to take over from the text
as a primary carrier of meaning. The production is imagined as a darkly satirical view of the world we live in. The starting points were news articles about the blizzard of February 2011, which then evolved into “sessions” of ideas and questions about getting stuck not only in snow, but stuck physically, culturally, economically, and spiritually.

TUTA  is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council Agency, The Light A City Fund, and the Gaylord and Dorothy Donnelley Foundation.
